Wat Lamai

Wat Lamai is a working temple with the island's small folk museum in its grounds — old fishing gear, farming tools, pottery and photos that show how Samui lived before tourism. Low-key and rarely busy, it's a 20-minute stop that adds context to the rest of the island. Central to Lamai, so easy to reach. Free or a small donation; dress modestly as at any wat.
