Lamai Beach

Samui's second beach and a more relaxed alternative to Chaweng — the same clear water and pale sand, with a smaller, less frantic strip behind it. Good for swimming most of the year, though the south end near the rocks can have a stronger shore break. Beach bars, cheap eats and massage huts line the sand. Free and public. The Grandmother and Grandfather rocks sit at the southern headland, a short walk away.
