Chaweng Beach

Samui's main event — a long, bright stretch of white sand and warm, clear water backed by the island's busiest strip of hotels, bars and restaurants. The north end is calmer and better for swimming; the middle is where the action and the loungers are. Plenty of watersports if you want them, and easy to find food and a beer without moving far. Free and public. It gets busy — for space, walk toward Chaweng Noi at the quieter southern end.
