Koh Samui Night Markets: Which Night and Where (2026)

Every Koh Samui night market on one page, sorted by the night it runs: Fisherman's Village on Friday, Maenam on Thursday, Lamai on Sunday, plus the nightly food markets, with hours from published 2026 sources and where the sources disagree.

At a glance

Last checked: 17 October 2026, by Jules Ashby. Days and hours come from published 2026 guides and the Koh Samui City Municipality listing, linked in the table. Stall prices come from Destination Thailand’s September 2026 market guide.

Koh Samui’s night markets run on a weekly rota, so the useful question is which one is on tonight. This page sorts them by night, links every market page on this site, and flags the two places where published sources disagree (Chaweng’s days and Lamai’s Sunday market). For the food itself, see the Koh Samui food guide.

  • Biggest: Fisherman’s Village Walking Street, Bophut, every Friday from about 5pm to 10 or 11pm.

Days and hours shift with the season and with local events. Treat the times as a guide and ask at your hotel on the day.

Fisherman’s Village Walking Street (Bophut): Friday

This is the market most visitors mean. The old shophouse street in Bophut closes to traffic on Friday evening and fills with food and craft stalls from about 5pm. Samui69 gives 17:00 to 23:00 and Destination Thailand about 5pm to 10 or 11pm. Samui69 and Siam Travel both list smaller markets on Monday and Wednesday, so Friday is the one to plan around.

Destination Thailand’s September 2026 prices: prawn skewers ฿80 to ฿120, squid ฿80 to ฿100, ten sticks of satay ฿60 to ฿80, pad thai ฿60 to ฿80, mango sticky rice ฿60 to ฿80 and coconut ice cream ฿50.

Market pages: Fisherman’s Village night market, Free Wave Market and the Bophut food market. For the village by day, see the Fisherman’s Village guide.

Maenam Walking Street: Thursday

Maenam’s market runs along the lane from the ring road down to the pier, past the Chinese temple (Destination Thailand). Samui69 puts the start at about 17:00, and Destination Thailand has it winding down around 9 or 10pm. It is smaller and more local than Bophut. Destination Thailand lists rice plates at ฿40 to ฿60, noodles at ฿40 and grilled fish at ฿120 to ฿150.

Market pages: Mae Nam afternoon market and, for the morning, the Maenam morning market.

Lamai: the Sunday market and the nightly Night Plaza

Siam Travel and Destination Thailand list Lamai’s walking street on Sunday from about 5 to 10pm, running from the old Night Plaza toward the river bridge. Thailand Addict says the original market stopped during Covid and a smaller version runs only some weeks, so check before you plan an evening around it.

If it’s not on, Lamai Night Plaza is the nightly fallback, a yard of food stalls open from about 5pm to midnight (Destination Thailand). Lamai prices from the same guide: khao man gai ฿50, pork skewers about ฿10 each, grilled fish ฿150 to ฿200, gaeng som ฿50 to ฿60 and roti ฿40 to ฿50.

Market pages: Lamai night market, Lamai fresh food market and, south of Lamai, the Hua Thanon fish market.

Chaweng Walking Street and Laem Din

Chaweng’s walking street sits by Chaweng Lake, opposite Central Festival. Here the sources disagree. Siam Travel lists Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 4 to 10pm, and Destination Thailand roughly Thursday to Saturday, 5 to 10pm. The Koh Samui City Municipality listing says it opens every day except Friday, 18:00 to 23:00, but that page is undated, and its comments go back to 2020. Thursday and Saturday evenings are the nights both versions agree on.

Laem Din, the town’s daily fresh market, has night food stalls until about 11pm (Destination Thailand), with chicken and sticky rice about ฿60, curry ฿50 and noodles ฿45.

Market pages: Chaweng night market, C Mui market, Laem Din market and White Market.

Daily markets: Nathon, Bang Rak and Hua Thanon

  • Nathon pier: stalls every evening from about 4 or 5pm to 10pm, close to the ferry piers on the west coast, plus a Sunday walking street (Destination Thailand, Samui69). See the Nathon night food market.
  • Bang Rak: a daily market by the Seatran pier from mid-afternoon to about 9pm, with a street-food night on Saturday (Destination Thailand). Plaza the Green night market is in Bangrak as well: its pin on this site sits beside Bangrak market, not on the Fisherman’s Village street. The activity page address says Bo Put because Bang Rak is in that tambon.
  • Hua Thanon: a fishing village between Na Thian and Lamai on route 4169. The municipality says the boats go out at about 22:00 and come back between 04:00 and 08:00, and the catch goes to the Hua Thanon fresh market (Koh Samui City Municipality). Destination Thailand gives the market’s hours as about 7am to 6pm. It is a morning stop, not a night market.

Getting there and back

Destination Thailand’s September 2026 Grab estimates from Chaweng: ฿150 to ฿250 to Bophut or Lamai, ฿250 to ฿350 to Maenam and ฿400 to ฿500 to Nathon. Songthaews cost ฿50 to ฿100 by day. Friday traffic around Fisherman’s Village is slow, so leave extra time. For the options in detail, see getting around Koh Samui.

How we checked

  • This guide is researched from sources, not from visits. On 17 Oct 2026 we read the market guides from Destination Thailand (dated 17 Sep 2026), Samui69, Siam Travel and Thailand Addict, and the Koh Samui City Municipality listings for Chaweng Walking Street and Hua Thanon.
  • Where sources disagree, both versions are shown rather than picking one. Stall prices are Destination Thailand's September 2026 figures.
  • Hotel distances, star ratings and scores come from each hotel's Agoda listing on 17 Oct 2026, and every booking link was matched to the right hotel ID that day. We don't print nightly rates.
  • Plaza the Green is listed under Bang Rak, not Bophut. Its activity pin sits beside Bangrak Market, and Bangrak guides place the market there. The activity address says Bo Put because Bang Rak is in that tambon.
