Samui Elephant Home

An ethical elephant sanctuary in the hills where the animals are retired from logging and trekking camps — no riding, no shows. You feed them, walk with them and help bathe them in mud and water, in small groups with the mahouts alongside. Half-day and full-day visits, both with hotel pickup and a meal. Book ahead; spots are limited and it's deservedly popular. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy.
